Creating Your No Cost Internet Marketing Business Presence

To start out today, I will be going over a very popular no cost technique for starting your online buiness presence! It cost $0 and only takes a short amount of time to setup. It is another source that will generate targeted traffic for you and help your rankings. It gives you the freedom to put your own personal touch on the subject.

What am I talking about?

Blogging - It doesn't cost you any money to setup 1 or 1000 blogs! Blogs are ranked higher by Search Engines because they usually contain more related unique (to you) content updated on more frequent basis. This not only helps your ranking but delivers you more targeted traffic.

So how do you get started?

I will be guiding you through how to setup a blog using Blogger.com, because it is owned by Google. Which will provide you the benefit of getting indexed sooner and more frequently compared to other types of blogs.

Tip: When optimizing your site for the search engines - optimize for Google first, after your indexed by Google - the rest will follow.

  1. Go to Blogger.com and signup for a new account. Follow the steps provided. When creating your blog's title and url include your main keyword(s) or phrase for you niche. Recommended to start out with the default template to get started. "Minima"

  2. Create your Intro/Welcome post in your blog - who you are, your knowledge - enthusiasts or expert, your plan or purpose for your blog, and things you may incorporate in your future postings.

  3. Change you blog settings: Click the "Settings" Tab

    • Basics
      • Enter a description about your blog (use your keywords)
      • Show email post links - Yes
      • Save Settings

    • Publishing
      • Notify Weblogs.com - Yes
      • Save Settings

    • Formating
      • Make sure time zone is a U.S. Time Zone
      • Show link field - Yes
      • Save Settings

    • Comments
      • Who can comment - optional - I usually let anyone comment, you'll have to test it though - you may have to be careful in different niches.
      • Comment Notification Address - enter you email to receive updates when someone has posted a comment on your blog.
      • Save Settings

    • Archiving
      • Archive frequency - update daily - this create a separate page for each of your posts - more pages of content containing different themes linking to your blog. Great for Search Engines.
      • Save Settings

    • Site Feed
      • Descriptions - change to short, this will provide a small snippet of your post and a link back to you full post. Then you may benefit from additional links on your blog, if available - such as Adsense ads, affiliate links, signup to your list.
      • Save Settings

The "Email" and "Members" tabs are optional, I don't usually make any changes there.

  4. Continue adding posts for a couple of days - adding more niche related content to your blog. After you have some content on your blog, you will want to signup for a Google Adsense account. The reason you should wait a few days until you have a bit of content is because Google does not approve all sites that are submitted such as - sites with no content, under construction, as well as other reasons. Your site is review by Google before your account is approved - don't give them a reason not to approve yours!

  5. Continue to update your blog, because as stated prior - you will receive more benefits from having your site updated frequently and giving more content for the search engines to index - more targeted traffic for you.
Will be back tomorrow with another way to build your online presence.

Cheers To No Cost Marketing
